How to Make Money with Domain Names, Flipping & Parking

Buying and selling domain names is an easy and exiting way to earn money online. Top domain names which are single worded are sold for millions and are being sold every day. The simple fact in this type of opportunity is that everyone wants a domain name; may be for a business or for a personal visibility. Every one needs a web presence now a days for their business.

Low investment and high returns is the trade mark of this type of business. You will buy a new domain and hold it for some time. You will buy it for 100 and sell for 200 or much more; in other words buy for small - sell for big.

The first thing you do on a net is to type the web address in the browser, in other words the domain name. Such is the importance of domain name. So every business, in fact everything what you see on the web pages is aligned to a name called domain name.

Millions of domain names are already sold on internet. But you still have many more left.

There are three different types of domain names based on their life cycle.
1. New Domains:
These domain names are still available so that you can buy and build a website with them. As most of the short and single worded domain names are over you will have domains with combination of two or more words. Even with combination of two or more words you can still get wonderful domain names which will have a value in the near future.
2. Existing Domains:
Sometimes when you search for a domain name in a domain search tool, it says it’s not available but you will be surprised that a website with that domain name never exists on the internet. This is because someone has bought that domain name and kept it on hold for further use, may be they want to sell it for much more price.

You don’t have to take much risk searching and acquiring the domain of your choice. There are already some sites which act as a middle man between you and the buyer so that they can sell the domain for you for a small commission or fee. Flippa.com and Sedo.com are good examples where you can submit your domains for free and can sell when you get a good offer.
3. Recycled Domains:
There are some domain names which are not available now, but will be available in a month or so. This is because some people might have bought a domain name and then forgot to renew it even after its grace period has expired. Such kind of domain names; sometimes single worded are recycled and will be available again for anyone to buy.

So keep a watch on these recycled domains regularly if you are very keen and looking for a good worded domain. Advantage of this kind of domain names is that they have ready traffic as they already have back links. Namejet.com is a good example to search for the recycled domains.

Points to Remember before buying a Domain Name :
1. First decide for which type of industry you need a domain so that you can search for the key words for that particular industry or field.

2. Gather good key words for the desired domain by doing an intensive research on the net.

3. Use tools like Google Key word tool to search by word or industry or both.

4. First search for the single word domains and then go for the combination of two or more words.

5. Although dot com (.com) is famous on the net, you can also go for the other extensions like (.net) or (.info) or (.org).

6. The less the length of the domain the more its value as it is easy for everyone to remember and visit the site.

7. The domain should have a meaning and not a random combination of letters and numbers, which does not give any sense to the common user or surfer.

Domain Parking :
You might have seen people using Google Ad Sense to get a bit of income from their website. You can also do that without a website. You need a domain name and that's it. You just need to keep the ad sense code on your domain and leave. You will either be paid per click or CPM (impression) basis.

This is all possible by changing your DNS name servers. The traffic to these domains will be mostly from expired domain names or typos, where users type in a wrong spelling while searching for website online.

The best way to be successful in this type of business is not a have single domain and wait for a buyer but to have multiple domains targeting different industries.
